McLean, VA, October 27, 2011

Dr. Marla Gebaide of the Centreville Chiropractic Center presented a check to the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) Foundation at the October 26 meeting of the Hispanic Business Council of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. On hand to receive the check were Margery Leveen Sher, Executive Director of MCCP Foundation; Barry Meil, member of the Board of Directors; and Supervisor Michael Frey. Ms. Sher expressed her gratitude for the support of the Hispanic Business community and thanked Dr. Gebaide for her philanthropy. Dr. Gebaide noted, “MCCP Foundation makes sure children from low-income families have the medical and dental care they need. Many of the children served are Hispanic, so I am particularly pleased to step up to the plate on this one. MCCP Foundation is one of the most effective and efficient organizations around, and really makes great strides in working with its partners to solve this serious problem.”

MCCP Foundation funds health care for the children of uninsured working families in Fairfax County. Despite being one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, there are many thousands of children in our community who don't have access to doctors and dentists when they need them. This is a critical problem. Good health is essential to school success, and for attaining the foundation for a successful life. MCCP Foundation is a proven model of a public/private partnership that works to solve an urgent community problem.
